Rules & Regulations:

Beach Information:

One mile of white sandy beaches and an old fashion boardwalk are part of the beautiful landscape of the East Side of Sea Girt. Designated beaches are available for bathing, fishing, surfing and of course sun bathing. A walk on the boardwalk offers a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean, and starts at the foot of the Historic Lighthouse and runs to the South end of town. We ask you to keep in mind that the boardwalk is for people only, sorry no dogs allowed.

Beach Badges:

Beach badges are required to be worn during the beach season, which runs from Memorial day to Labor day. Seasonal badges are available at $70.00 per badge for the entire summer season. SENIOR BADGES (age 65 or older) will be priced at $50.00 each, available at Pavilion only with proper identification. Senior Badges will have a distinctive pattern and are for seniors only. Each and every person (excepting children under 12 years of age) must have a Beach Badge when using any of the beaches in Sea Girt during open hours.
Beach Badges may be obtained between the hours of 9 am and 4:30 pm at the Bathing pavilion Office at the foot of beacon Boulevard or at other to be designated area. Only cash will be accepted for badges.

A fee is charged for the Beach Badge in order that the highest standard of Lifeguard protection may be provided and the necessary personnel may be employed to maintain clean and safe beaches. Lifeguards are on duty daily, 9:15am to 4:45pm at designated beaches.

Beach badges will not be replaced for any reason.

Badges are required every day from June 19 until Labor day.

Daily Badges are required for the same days as seasonal and will be sold at $7.00 per person. These badges can be purchased at the Main Pavilion and other designated areas.

Food on the Beach:

Food on the beach is prohibited. Only non-alcoholic beverages in non-disposable containers are permitted on the beach. The throwing, dumping or placing of can, bottles, containers, paper, food or other waste or refuse material on the beach is prohibited.
Garbage and recycling containers are located on the boardwalk area. Please use the appropriate container.

Dog Walking:

Borough Ordinance N0 684 PROHIBITS dogs on the boardwalk. Dogs are PROHIBITED on the beach from May 1 to September 30 of any year. Your particular cooperation in the observance of the ordinance is requested.

Bath Houses:

Bath houses are available at the Main pavilion. Seasonal and daily lockers are available and rates are posted at the ticket window. Seasonal bath hoses include five season badges at a rate of $600.00. Daily locker fees are $12.00 weekdays and $15.00 weekends and holiday. Daily locker fee includes beach admission.

Sleeping on the Beach:

No sleeping on the beach between the hours of 5 pm and 8 am.

Picnics:

Picnic parties are limited to 1 per week per group on North Beach, 6 pm - 9 pm. No alcohol or fires on the beach. Written application 15 days before party date, $50 deposit required. Permits are issued by the Police Department.

Games on the Beach:

The throwing of balls or other objects such as frisbees, paddleball and football is prohibited on beaches during bathing hours of the entire beach season, except North Beach. Kite flying is prohibited on all beaches.

Private Storage Boxes:

The placing of private Storage Boxes on the beach or under the boardwalk is prohibited.

Restrooms:

The Pavilion restrooms will be open during normal beach hours and during special events at the beach.

Bike Riding:

Riding or standing bicycles o the boardwalk from May 15 to September 15 is restricted to the hours of 5:00 am to 10:00 am. Motorized vehicles are not permitted at any time on the beach or boardwalk. Skates and skateboards are not permitted at any time on the boardwalk.

Boats:

Boats of any kind other than registered catamarans or sailfish may not be launched or beached on any beach during bathing hours. Registration is limited to 30 in number. These catamarans are to be kept north of the Beacon Blvd. Jetty as posted. Registration decals must be displayed on the boats. These catamarans may be launched only on the North beach. These catamarans are permitted on the beach form April 1 to October 31. Any boats on the beach before or after this time shall be removed at the owner's expense and a fine imposed.

Kayaks may be launched at North Beach daily and at Trenton Beach on weekends, subject to safe surf conditions.* Kayaks storage bins are available from Memorial Day to one week after Labor Day. Registration is required in the Beach Office and will be renewed each year until June 15th. Space is limited.

*No wave riding is permitted on Trenton Beach.
